The deep blue sea.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Big beach at Makena state park, but if you haven’t, you should. The color of that water is like no other. See for yourself:

Like it’s not even real. I stand in awe of His creations. And when I stand on top of this ledge, I feel like a grain of sand. I feel so blessed and so thankful to be seeing this view.

Here is my husband floating in his favorite pool. Look at how perfect. Thank you Lord. Thank you for blessing me for so much more than I deserve.

Be blessed. Be thankful.

Girls trip to Hana!

I’m a little late, but I’m finally posting about our girls day trip to Hana. If you’ve been on Maui or if you’ve been there, you know why they call it “Heavenly Hana.” I will post my pictures, but it’s not even a 1/1000th of how AMAZING this part of Hawaii is. My girlfriend Crimson had a friend coming to Maui to play. She asked if we would be interested in joining the fun. We have a friend that we call “Hana Heather” and this girl has spent some serious time exploring this pretty place. She was our tour guide for the day. Oh the places we went!

The day started off so great! Perfect weather, happy faces and waterfalls flowing!

We had to stop and take a selfie.. ๐Ÿ™‚

The view! Look at this place!

Three bears!! Such an amaZing place!

Everywhere you look there is beauty. Every. Direction. I felt so overwhelmed with the creations that God has put in front of my eyes.

The red sand beach was my favorite. What an amazing little corner of the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

Waterfalls. Rain forests. Rainbow eucalyptus trees. Rand sand. Black sand. Blue skies. I love escaping the busy city life to a world of “slow down and take it all in!”

A weekend trip with the family is on the to-do list. Have you ever been to Hana? What was you favorite place? I love hearing about it.

Till next time

The color run.

Oh my goodness. So here’s the deal: I take a lot of pictures. A lot. Ask anyone. And I live in Hawaii… The camera never stops. I just looked at my phone today: 1800 pictures and 55 videos. I went to take a picture and I got a notification telling me that the memory was full. Oh no. Time to delete. I started flipping through and saw that I have some oldies that haven’t been posted. So, two months late: here are the Maui color run photos:

Pre-run. White shirts and clean skin! The sunrise was awesome! The energy was amazing. We were in for a fun time!

….and the colored powder throwing begins! What a blast!

It was a colorful time had by all ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to Starbucks when we were done. We got some very strange looks from the tourists ๐Ÿ™‚ it was a really fun day. I can’t wait to do it again next year ๐Ÿ™‚

Life is too short for dull nails.

Isn’t it though? I mean, I’m not a total girlie-girl or anything but I really love it when my nails are pretty. I usually have no patience when it comes to manicures. Who has time to sit and wait for polish to dry, only to bump them on something and have a nice smudge. So frustrating! I’ve tried all the pinterest-y designs only to end up annoyed. Enter: Jamberry nails. I saw it on Facebook through a friend and right away I was skeptical—but very interested. I figured that I’d just request a sample to see if this product can hold up in the Hawaii elements. Aaaannnd, they totally did. Sun, sand, salt water, dishes, scratching, cleaning, wearing flip-flops every day of the week… and there they were stuck to my nails. And I was sold. I figured, this product is awesome and I joined on board and haven’t looked back. But for those who aren’t sure what Jamberry nails are, let me tell you just a little bit: they are non-toxic, gluten free vinyl wraps that are made in the USA, safe for kids and come in over 350 designs (plus you can design your own! How cool is that!?) They are heat and pressure activated and they come 18 wraps on a sheet-9 different sizes from “big toe” big to “baby pinkie” small. Wraps on fingers last 1.5-2 weeks on average. ย Wraps on toes last 5-6 weeks! That’s around $4 a mani or a pedi. I don’t carry the inventory–so if you want to order, go toย and place an order. (Remember: buy three, get one FREE!) They have been shipping out to customers pretty quickly! Once you get them (contain yourself! It will be like Christmas morning!) make sure you understand how they are applied. It’s not as difficult as it may seem. But I say it like this: take the time that you would be spending on waiting for polish to dry (and freaking out that you are going to bump something and ruin them…. It literally happened every time I painted my nails. I don’t sit still very long!) and put that time to PREP. Clean, dry nails. Cuticles pushed back. Wipe down your nails with alcohol. Have the basics: orange stick, some use a clean tweezers, a small scissors, a strawberry margarita and a hair dryer ๐Ÿ˜‰ Wait, what? A hair dryer? Yes. These are heat activated. They need to get a blast of heat to kick start their mo-jo! Measure out wraps along nails, cut carefully. Don’t touch any of the backing with your hands (I’ve learned how to be a nail ninja with my orange sticks- I use one to take the wrapย from the clear backing to the heat source to my nail. It works like a charm!) Carefully blast some heat on the wrap. It will only take about 5-10 seconds. You will see it start to curl just a little. Put it over your nail-centered-not touching any skin-and push down firmly. Rub. Rub. Rub. Smooth those edges out. Then blast a little more heat on it. Now you can cut the excess off the top if there is any. I’ve gotten pretty good about not wasting. Maybe it’s theย inner-scrapbooker from years ago, but I dislike waste and try to be as thrifty as possible. The more I put these on, the less I have to cut off. Then hold a file straight up and down and gently file down the edge. That’s it! Easy right? I mean, it’s a little more involved than simply slapping on polish, but let me tell you–this is gonna last way longer and look oh-so-much cooler! I mix and match and always have a hard time deciding where to wear what. It is a real problem ๐Ÿ˜‰ And another problem: when your current wraps are a week in, still looking great, but you reeeeallly wanna change it up. Sigh. It’s good to be a girl! Contact me with any questions! I hope you fall in love with these little things as much as I did. But you must take a picture and post it on FB or message me so I can see. I love hearing happy stories! Here are just a few of my current nails. Cute right?

Aloha Flower toes. Seriously, just looking at my feet makes me smile. People must think I belong in a mental institution. But look how cute!! Eek! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was hoping that by digging and rubbing in the sand, it would give me an excuse to change my wraps. I mean, they were five days in and everything! No can do. They stayed put. Such a dilemma ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for stopping by!ย

Until next time!

Happy Aloha Friday!

How can it be May already? We just hit the 11 month Maui anniversary. It sure does not feel like we’ve been here that long. The longer I’m here, the more in love with this little island I become. I still find myself standing.. Staring. So very thankful. I’m trying so hard to keep up with this blog. But Somedays. Life is just zipping by. Kids are out of school in 4 weeks. Here’s a few pictures of the last couple of weekends…

The family.

He surfs!!

Happy Good Friday!

I had to drop McKenzie off at the pool at 6am… So of course I had to drive over and watch the sunrise. ๐Ÿ™‚ it was so spectacular.

Here’s the start…

A little more beautiful…

Standing in awe…

They tell you not to look directly at it, but…..

What a great way to start the day!
Happy Good Friday! Have a blessed weekend!
